click this picture for the 1024*768 version
Name: Getter 1
Pilot: Ryoma Nagare, pilot of Getter machine Eagle. The pilots of the other two machines don't drive the robot.
Height:
38 meters, but in some frames of the Anime he is more tall.
Activation: Robot turns on when the three machines join together
Driving system:
The cockpit in the head is full of levers
Material:
Polimorphic steel composed of several little steel plates that change position during the transformations of the robot.
Weapons: Getta beam, Double Tomahawk, Tomahawk boomerang and lots lots more.
Vehicle: Eagle machine (red), Bear machine (yellow) and Jaguar machine (white).
Notes: This is the new Getter 1. He appears in the Shin Getter Oav. As you can see he is more fat and old-fashioned respect his old brother of the 70's. He has all the details of the original robot: The red stripes on the legs, the blades on the arms, the same colors, the same breast, etc.

Technical notes:
Techniques: As usual I created an orthogonal view of the robot using the Visual book of the "Shin Getta robot" anime and I put this drawing as background in Lightwave modeler. I used lathe tool for arms and legs and metanurbs for the body.
The red part of the breast is done using extrude tool. The gears in the green part of the breast are simple textures.
What lacks: Nothing important.
My biggest problems: The biggest problems was to achieve a good proportion between all the body parts. First time Getter was too fat, second time was too slim and so on. Now I think it is correct.

The sub-machine gun
This is the sub-machine gun that Getta1 used in the OAV called "Shin Getter robot The last day". It appear from behind Getter's cloak . using it Getter1 was able to destroy hundrads of Getter Dragons. Is it strange to believe? Yes, you are right! It is almost impossible destroy all that powerful robots!

The bot for Quake3Arena
Notes: This is my first bot for Quake3arena. I modeled it in Lightwave starting with the high-detail model and reducing the number of polygons. Textures are renders of the detailed model merged together using Photoshop. The model is finished but not the animations..
Warning: I'm looking for someone who build bots for Quake3. I need him because I don't know which is the best way to make all the frame for the animation of the bot! I have the programs to do it but I don't know how to proceed using Lightwave.
Write me, Please!

The original robot
I know that a lot of you don't know this particular version of Getter robot. So I decided to put a little drawings of this robot. The picture on the left is a "Settei" for Shin Getter robot OVA. Ad you can see the robot it's very short and fat respect the old robot of the 70's.

A simple picture to test the global illumination feature of Lightwave3d

Tall and short 800*600
Note: There are robots very tall and robot very shorts! In the picture on the left we can see Getter1 and MazingaZ playing together while Jeeg in the corner is angry because he is too short to play with them! Sob!
Don't worry Jeeg! You are always the best robot of ever!!

This is not the end 836*1280
Note: The basic concept for this picture comes from a drawings of the "Getter robot saga" manga (see on the right). I change it a little bit, the dinosaurs in the sky instead of the man in the hand. Getter robot use his last forces trying to grab the dinosaurs flying in the sky. The terrain is melted by a huge explosion of Getter rays.
Sky is a modified version of one of the skies made by Eki Halka, the texture of the moon has been downloaded from Internet.

Face to face 800*600
Note: This is a simple close up of Getter1 face. A little trick! Do you see the white reflections on the colored glasses? I added the reflection in Photoshop using another render all black except the white reflection. I made the render changing all the materials to black. Lightwave didn't want to make white reflections on glasses very transparent.
Sparks 800*600
Note: Another render retouched in Photoshop. I used Alpha channel to retouch the background without paint on the foreground. Using the Alpha channel selection I darken the background to give more depth to the scene. Actually this render is all red, robot is red and background is red. Doing this way I can see the robot more clearly.
