Name: Koutetsu
Jeeg (Steel Jeeg)
Year: 1975
Height: 11 meters
but I'm not sure because Jeeg's height change during the anime.
Pilot: Hiroshi
Shiba
Activation:
Hiroshi change his shape to become the head of the robot. Miwa
shots the other parts of the robot. All the parts join together
using magnetic powers.
Driving system: Hiroshi
is Jeeg. He doesn't need driving gears because his arms are Jeeg
arms, his feet are Jeeg's feet and so on.
Material: Steel
Weapons: Knuckle
Bomber (both fists shot at once), Dynamite Punch (flying punch),
Spin Storm (fired from the belt), Magnetic Rope (From the chest),
Jeeg Beam (fired from the eyes), Jeeg Breaker (crush the enemy
by 'hugging' them), electronic boomerang, delta ray, detector
ray, Mach Drill, Jeeg bazooka, sky parts, marine parts, super
mega drill, Jeeg buckler, h305 Hantares.
Vehicle: the
Bigshooter
Friends: Shiba's
family, Miwa Uzuki, Dr Dahiri, Don Oseki and Pancho, Flora.
Enemies: (Yamatai
Oukoku, Ryuuma Teikoku, Aniwa Genjin, Robotjuu) : Wicked Big Demons
Kingdom, Dragons Demon Empire, Haniwa Phantasm Robot Beasts, Queen
Himika, Amaso, Mimashi, Ikima and the Dragon Emperor.
Notes: Jeeg is my favorite robot.
The story is simple but original: Hiroshi is a young boy involved
in events bigger than him. He hate his father who was very severe
with him, at the beginning he doesn't want to save the world but
he will try, just to prove himself that he is a real man.

| Technical notes:
|
|
|
|
Techniques:
This robot is very hard to model because it's rounded and human
shaped. It has a lot of details too, for example the light green
lines on the legs.
Another problems was to achieve a good dimension for all the parts.
Actually Jeeg it's fat and thin at the same time.
What lacks: the
other parts.
My biggest problems:
The head is impossible to model because it
changes shape every frame of the Anime. So I had to mix all the
different prospective to obtain a good head.

Dvd
cover "Koutetsu Jeeg" (04/04/05)
This is my attempt to create a cover for a
dvd. It's very important to understand that this dvd doesn't exist!
It's just an experiment in graphics! So don't ask me to buy this
dvd because it doesn't exist.
The picture is only 1024*768, the original picture is bigger to
improve printing qualities.

Jig
(15/03/04)
I found an old drawing I made a few hears ago.
I spent a few hours adding colors, reflections, details. This is
just a "funny version" of Jeeg of course, but I home you
like it the same. |

Build
up! (18/05/03)
This is a 3d version of one of the most famous
scene from the Steel Jeeg Anime. The head of Jeeg is ready to connect
to the other parts of the body. |
 |
Jeeg
skydome (08/11/02)
A simple scene using the global illumination
features of Lightwave3d. I hope you like it. |
 |
Jeeg
on TV (old work)
I was trying to obtain the same kind of noise
seen on television when two channels overlay. The model in the picture
wasn't completely textured. I use radiosity in Lightwave and Terragen
for the Sky. The channel logo is not real of course! |
 |
Jeeg in the Sky!
(old work)
Note: In this picture you can see Jeeg ready
to fight against my Haniwa monster Magmer. Jeeg is using his Mach
drills to fly, but in the real episode in which he fights Magma
the Mach drills don't exist.
Technically speaking in this picture I used radiosity for lighting,
Eki Halkka sky, vector blur for motion effects. In Photoshop I added
lens flares. |

"La figura vitruviana"
(old work)
This time my English is not good enough to
explain what I want to say about the picture on the left. All
I can say is that the original drawing from which I get the idea
for my render is a famous Leonardo da Vinci's drawing.

I'm coming from Hell!
(old work)
Note:I was playing with volumetric lights
and this is the result. It is a simple scene, a plane is the floor,
a few polygons to make the columns, a bitmap for the sky and Jeeg.
That's all.

 |
Miwa, Sky parts!
(old work)
Note: The background is rendered in Terragen,
the Bigshooter is almost finished with textures, panels and detail.
This picture has been retouched in Photoshop for blurring and
rounding edges.
