Name: Scourge, leader of Decepticons.
From the TV show "Trasformer Robots in disguise". Copyright by Hasbro inc.

Year: Unknown.
Authors: Unknown.
Height: Unknown. Transformers change their size without logic (for example Megatron turns himself into a normal gun).
Pilot: No one! Scourge is a living robot. He don't need a pilot.
Activation: Like all the others Transformer his activation start turning himself from a Truck to a robot.
Material: Maybe its material is the same of the Truck. I don't think so because he is too resistant to hits to be in steel.
Weapons: He uses a big gun and a purple sword. But He also has 4 missiles in the shoulders.
Notes: Who is Scourge? Why he is so similar to the famous Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobot in the first Transformer series.
Scourge is actually the "bad version" of Optimus Prime. Details change, colors change, but the general outfit its very similar to Optimus Prime.
This happens because Megatron gaves life to him transforming a Truck in a robot. Scourge is similar to Optimus because both they were Trucks.
I choose to model Scourge because he was the better Transformer in the "Robots in disguise" series. All the others robots were too simple or too much strange to model.

Technical notes:
Techniques: The model is very simple. It is based on simple boxes and cylinder. The first step was to model simple shapes. Then I rounded all the edges using Modo (Modo is very fast in this job respect to Lightwave). Last thing to model was the hand. As you can see it's a very simple model, but I wanted to be a perfect copy of the original one ad it appears in the cartoon.
What lacks: I would like to transform him in the truck shape but it is a very complex thing to do. I also want to add all the typical details of the American trucks.
My biggest problems: Hands were tricky to do. Their shape is simple but I wanted to be animatable. So I had to study correct dimension for every part of the fingers. Textures are hand made using Deepaint3d. I used the same techniques used for Daikengo robot but in a more easy way. Only three maps, color, specular, and reflection. All the textures together are 65 Mbytes.

The original robot:
Here you can see a few pictures coming from the cartoon. You can see his sword, his gun, and also the four cannon on the shoulder.

White model (15/10/05)
This picture is done removing colors, specular and reflection attribute. Only bump maps are applied. I used this picture to check the shapes and the general outfit of the robot.

The intermediate robot (15/10/05)
In this picture you see Scourge when it was not finished. Without textures and without rounded edge you see that it's very simple. So simple that I choose to add lots more details and all the textures.

The sphere (15/10/05)
This strange picture has been used to test lightning for my 3d model to match the background photograph. I use this simple white sphere to have the same direction for shadows and lights. When I like this picture I remove the sphere and I add the robot.
I want to Thanks Yashugan of GtGroup to teach me this technique.
Wheel (15/10/05)
This is one of the wheel of Scourge. The tire is done using a bitmap and a few procedural maps. You probably see that the central part of the wheel is very blurry. That's because the camera it's too near to the wheel.
